Anne Braden:
Southern Patriot (1924-2006)

"If it was Rosa Parks and Martin Luther King who convinced me to join the struggle, it was Anne Braden who showed me how to do it."
-- Bob Zellner, SNCC

A first-person documentary about the extraordinary life of this American civil rights leader. Braden was hailed by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in his 1963 Letter from Birmingham Jail as a white southerner who was "eloquent and prophetic." Ostracized as a "red," she fought for an inclusive movement community and became a mentor for generations of social justice activists.
